Initial Equine Wellness Session

Your horse’s first appointment with Kaiti - a comprehensive experience individually tailored to your horse.

Initial Equine Wellness Sessions exist to allow Kaiti to gather information and to begin a plan to support you and your horse through her work. Please allow up to 2 hours for Initial Sessions. A generous appointment time allows for Kaiti to meet your horse where they are in the present moment, to discuss your challenges and goals, and to develop a trusting working relationship - with you, and with your horse.

initial Sessions Include

  • Discussion with you to learn about your horse’s history, lifestyle, workload, and physical and emotional challenges - as well as your goals for your partnership.

  • Dynamic and static observations of your horse’s habitual postures and movement.

  • Musculoskeletal palpation and appropriate joint range of motion analysis, within your horse’s ability and comfort level, to discern where the root of their challenges may lie.

  • Application of bodywork, groundwork, and energy modalities, appropriate for your horse’s current needs.

  • Suggestions to build on the positive changes facilitated during the session, and form a tailored support plan.

  • Digital PDF summary of the session.

please note

  • Referrals from other equine professionals are common, but not necessary.

  • You will be given a digital form to complete prior to the appointment to aid in the information gathering process.

  • Clearance from your veterinarian may be required in cases of illness or injury.

Equine Wellness Session

After your horse has completed an Initial Session, appointments following are Equine Wellness Sessions.

Time between appointments varies with the needs of each horse and their support plan. Kaiti will discuss this with you to establish an appropriate schedule together. Horses on a consistent support plan show the greatest improvement in their performance and well-being. Here is an article that explains why.

Horse and Owner Support Session

Acquire skills to support your horse’s wellness and integrate positive changes into their daily life by learning from Kaiti’s experience and expertise.

Support Sessions are meant to complement your horse’s professional bodywork sessions, by giving you personalized tools and techniques to work with your own horse. They are available in person, as an online consultation, and over video.

Working with your own horse in this way will not only provide physical support for your equine partner, but strengthen your relationship and communication as you learn to unwind stress and tension - together!

A single Support Session will provide you with information and activities to keep you busy - they are not meant to be scheduled regularly, nor are they meant to replace lessons from your coach/trainer. After your Support Session, optional follow-up consultations are available over phone or video to discuss improvements, questions, and challenges.

Support Sessions Include

  • Development of your eye to observe your horse’s habitual posture, movement, and tension patterns.

  • Learning a variety of manual and movement techniques, individually tailored to your horse’s unique needs.

  • Learning ways that you can hold space and gently unwind your horse’s tension patterns in a safe, gentle, and harm-free way.

  • Discussion of your partnership goals with your horse, and how to formulate a plan to ensure its success.

  • Digital summary provided after the session, so that you can recall what was discussed and demonstrated.

Equine Therapy & Bodywork Mentorship

Kaiti provides mentorship for students of equine therapy, as well as professional equine therapists & bodyworkers.

As a self-employed individual who typically works alone, do you ever find yourself wishing you had someone in your corner? Someone experienced in your field, who listens to what you're going through with no judgment?

  • Do you need someone to chat with about your cases, who can direct you to the resources that you need, broaden your perspective, and share some new skills?

  • Do you need support around common challenges like record keeping, assessment, pricing, and client communication?

  • Do you struggle with words to describe what you do for your clients, and wish that someone could help you finesse your social media content, visuals, or copy for your website?

  • Would it help you to identify your strengths and discover what makes you truly unique?

Kaiti has been working in the equine therapy field since she began her initial certification program in 2014. At that time, it was so challenging to find any mentorship or resources, and she had to figure out many things on her own. It's often a lonely journey as a "solopreneur", especially if you don't have a community of colleagues to turn to. When Kaiti eventually found mentorship and community, her skills and her business blossomed.

Nowadays, working equine bodyworkers and students alike often reach out to Kaiti for guidance. She is widely considered to be approachable, empathetic, positive, a great listener, and generous with advice and resources. A quote that she loves to say is that a rising tide lifts all boats!

mentorship Sessions Include

  • Kaiti’s mentorship services are customized to what you're looking for in a mentorship. Even if you aren't sure what you need yet, please reach out to chat about it - or set up a discovery call to dive into the details.

  • Kaiti is not a lawyer or an accountant, so she cannot provide legal or financial advice. She is also not a veterinarian, and cannot diagnose your cases. Anything else equine therapy related - she’s there for you!

  • Package pricing is available for those who wish to pre-book a series of mentorship sessions.
