COVID-19 Protocol
This policy outlines the steps we will take when we are together for your horse's appointment to reduce any risks associated with the current Covid-19 pandemic. Please read these protocols carefully to be sure that you are able to follow them during our time together.
These protocols are subject to change with the newest information and guidelines from the BC Government.
Please notify your barn owner/manager of the appointment.
I, the equine therapist attending the appointment, am vaccinated against Covid-19 - but I will not ask you, the client or horse handler, for your vaccination status.
I, the equine therapist attending the appointment, will thoroughly wash/sanitize my hands and tools between horses. Please notify me if you would prefer that I wear a mask during the appointment, and when the barn rules require mask wearing. Otherwise I will leave it up to my discretion of the level of risk.
Please reduce the number of people in the immediate area of where I am working. This could mean working in a quieter area away from the main gathering points in the barn, or making sure to book your appointment during less busy times. I can also work outdoors in a paddock or riding ring when the weather permits it.
Please reduce the amount of high touch areas that I will need to touch during the appointment. Please open gates, turn on lights, have the horse haltered etc. so that I do not have to touch more surfaces than necessary.
If you are feeling sick, or have been potentially exposed to someone with Covid-19, please reschedule your appointment, even if it is last minute. There are no fees associated with cancellations related to Covid-19.
